What makes artists, make art?
Object / Create goes behind the curtain of creativity with an intimate photography exhibition by Lyrix Organix photographer Owen Davies, which you can view in the Hall’s Ground Floor Amphi Corridor throughout February, as part of our Unstoppable Voices season.
Jazz musicians, champion beatboxers, award-winning poets and enigmatic rappers reveal their most precious and simple objects that inspire their creativity. Intensely personal stories of family, identity, art, youth and humanity are captured through imagery, audio interviews and text.
A striking body of work from photographer Owen Davies, who has spent years capturing Lyrix Organix performances, will feature throughout the exhibition.
The exhibition will be on display in the Royal Albert Hall’s Amphi Corridor, and can be viewed when attending a performance here between Friday 25 January and Wednesday 27 February.
The exhibition will be open to the public for free, between 10am-12pm, on every weekend in February, except Sunday 10 February.
Lyrix Organix is a flag bearer for imagination, intelligence and innovation in live performance and arts education. Throughout their work they explore the Art of Words through the UK’s finest spoken word, hip hop and live music; build the bridge between education, events and employment through visionary youth-led programmes; and fly the flag for young people through social action.
