Bringing together generations from across our community for an epic musical journey on our 150th Birthday.
A special commission by composer David Arnold performed by Albert’s Orchestra, the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and students from the Tri-borough Music Hub.
David Arnold may be internationally renowned for his scores for multiple James Bond films, Independence Day, Little Britain and Sherlock, but for the Hall’s 150th anniversary he has turned his compositional genius to create a work to be performed by local schoolchildren, alongside the National Youth Choir of Great Britain and the Hall’s in-house orchestra.
The culmination of over a year’s work in our local community, this commission celebrates the story of the Royal Albert Hall – from the seed of the idea, through construction and the unforgettable events and social movements that the Hall has hosted.
From the suffragettes to Chelsea Arts Club Balls, from Einstein and Stephen Hawking to sporting legends, from classical to rock and pop, A Circle of Sound celebrates the remarkable history of the nation’s village hall.
This event is kindly supported by John Lyon’s Charity
