This Royal Albert Home session can be watched on demand here:
Sophie Hunger will deliver an exclusive set from her home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions.
In these strange times, closing the Hall’s doors is the best way to look after the world, but we are now opening a (virtual) window for you to experience some of the most talented artists around.
Sophie Hunger has long been synonymous with a minimalist folk-jazz hybrid that put her in step with fellow travellers like Laura Marling and Feist, but having made the move to Berlin in recent years she has since discovered electronic music.
Hunger, already an established artist in mainland Europe, released her first full album in English, Molecules, in 2018, described be her as “minimal electronic folk”. It bears witness to her defiance and intellectual credibility in a post-truth age of ignorance.
Pop fans in search of a nuanced, intelligent role model could do worse than to keep an eye on Sophie Hunger.
