Royal Albert Home: Paul Potts
Sunday 2 August 2020, 17:00 BST
Primary Content
This session will be broadcast for free on this page at 17:00 BST:
English tenor Paul Potts will deliver an exclusive set from his home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions.
In these strange times, closing the Hall’s doors is the best way to look after the world, but we are now opening a (virtual) window for you to experience some of the most talented artists around.
Paul first fell in love with opera after listening to La bohème at 16. This romance set the singer on a journey that would eventually lead to him winning the first series of Britain’s Got Talent in 2007 with a memorable version of Nessun Dorma. Following this life-changing event, he released his chart-topping first album, appeared on Oprah twice, announced a global arena tour and became a household name worldwide.
His rags-to-riches story inspired the 2013 film One Chance, starring James Corden in the lead role. But the story doesn’t end there: since his quick rise to fame, the classical crossover singer released a further five studio albums, an autobiography, and performed over 1,000 times across 44 countries.
We are delighted to present Paul Potts for the first time through this online series as he prepares for future shows around the world.
