British artist, illustrator and author Charlie Mackesy will deliver an exciting home draw-along as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions.
In these strange times, closing the Hall’s doors is the best way to look after the world, but we are now opening a (virtual) window for you to experience some of the most talented artists around.
Charlie’s award-winning work has featured in books, private collections, and public spaces around the world. His best-selling book, The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse was named Waterstones Book Of The Year 2019.
Of the book, Charlie says ‘My hope is that the book goes some way to helping people live more courageously, more honestly and with more love for themselves and others.’ His beautiful illustrations are shared regularly on his Instagram.
The Royal Albert Hall is a building very close to Charlie’s heart – ‘It’s a great shape, a loving shape – like a jelly’, he says. ‘A cosy pudding housing genius.’
Wonderful words indeed, and we are delighted to present his genius to you in this draw-along session.
