This session will be broadcast for free on this page at 20:15 BST after the nationwide #ClapForOurCarers
Genre-blurring UK pianist Ashley Henry will deliver an exclusive set from his home as part of the Royal Albert Home sessions.
In these strange times, closing the Hall’s doors is the best way to look after the world, but we are now opening a (virtual) window for you to experience some of the most talented artists around.
Having recently embarked on world tours with Loyle Carner and Christine & The Queens, Henry has a rapidly growing international profile. His debut album Beautiful Vinyl Hunter was the only jazz album to be nominated for the 2019 BBC 6 Music Album of the Year.
“My music is a straight-up reflection of who I am; London in all its mixed-up glory. The immigrant in me has musical roots traced back to the 1940’s, so it’s important my music reflects that jazz narrative across different genres and generations.” Ashley Henry
