Royal Albert Hall presents
Late Night Jazz: O'Higgins and Luft play Monk and Trane
#latenightjazz
Primary Content
Late Night Jazz celebrates the finest jazz standards in the intimacy of the Elgar Room.
Dave O’Higgins and Rob Luft are both individually established on the UK jazz scene, but 2019 saw them collaborate on a new project paying tribute to modernist jazz icons Thelonious Monk and John Coltrane on the album O’Higgins & Luft Play Monk & Trane.
Expect Thelonious Monk compositions including some rare cuts, and a special focus on John Coltrane’s choice of standards and collaborations in the late ’50s.
Rob and Dave will lead a quartet with Ross Stanley on Hammond organ and American drummer Rod Youngs.
