Folk legend Richard Thompson is heading back to the Royal Albert Hall for the first time in 23 years this September to celebrate his 70th Birthday. As well as celebrating Thompson’s milestone birthday, this unmissable show will be a fitting tribute to a truly exceptional artist with special guests.

The British singer-songwriter and guitarist holds a coveted spot on Rolling Stone’s “100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time” list. His songwriting similarly earned him an Ivor Novello Award and GRAMMY Award nominations.

Thompson is known for songs such as I Want to See the Bright Lights Tonight, 1952 Vincent Black Lightning, Tear Stained Letter and Beeswing, and his influence can’t be overstated. The likes of Robert Plant, R.E.M. and David Byrne have covered his music since he made his debut as a member of Fairport Convention in 1967.
