Vincent Ling started learning the piano at the age of seven and in 2013 was accepted at the Royal College of Music Junior Department, where he currently studies with Nataša Lipovšek. As a successful participant in the Jaques Samuel Piano Festival, he has performed twice at Wigmore Hall. He has also played in the internationally broadcast festival Messiaen’s Muses, took part in a public masterclass with Joanna MacGregor at the Wiltshire Music Centre, and has been twice selected by the Awards for Young Musicians for a Robert Lewin Scholarship.

In November of 2016, Vincent gave the Première performance of Code by Graham Fitkin, which formed part of Spectrum 5; a collection of pieces specially composed for young pianists by invited composers from all over the world, edited by the RCM’s Thalia Myers and published by the Associated Board of the Royal Schools of Music.

Now aged 17, Vincent has reached the Final Round of the RCMJD Peter Morrison Concerto Competition, where he will perform Beethoven’s Emperor Concerto, and has successfully progressed to the second round of the BBC Young Musician 2018 competition. He hopes to continue his studies at senior level with the aim of becoming a professional pianist.
