Handful of Keys

Over the last 19 years A Handful of Keys has chalked up an impressive track record including 9 international awards, with more than 350,000 seeing the show over 1,100 performances.

Deceptively simple in concept, two men at two pianos create a show that has had critics and audiences unanimously delighted. The reaction for all four casts has been identical – box office magic and rave reviews.

Ian von Memerty (one of the co-creators) will be joined by Jonathan Roxmouth for this special showcase performance in the Royal Albert Hall's Elgar Room.

Ian is one of South Africa's most successful artistes winning 13 national awards for his work both on and off the stage.  He has been the presenter of the 5 hit seasons of South Africa’s Strictly Come Dancing and a judge on South Africa's Got Talent.

Jonathan, at merely 25 years old, has been hailed as a wunderkind and has a CV to match that claim.  As Gaston in Beauty in the Beast, Judas in Jesus Christ Superstar, Danny in Grease and the youngest Phantom in the world – he has walked away with the Best Performance Awards for the last 4 years.

Together, Ian and Jonathan will bring you a glimpse of the constantly surprising and delightful entertainment that makes for a show that is greater than the sum of its parts.

Highlights include the gloriously inventive History of Broadway in 12 minutes; the elegance and energy of Ragtime; tributes to the great showmen – Liberace, Elton John and Fats Waller; a bow to the ladies including Nina Simone and Norah Jones; the sumptuous Rhapsody in Blue; and a dizzyingly frenetic rock 'n roll finale.

Don't miss a unique and extraordinary one-off theatre treat.
