The Royal Albert Hall is Prince Albert’s legacy.

A much loved Grade I listed building, the Royal Albert Hall is held in trust for the nation. Since 1871, we’ve been home to unforgettable experiences for audiences and artists alike, playing host to global icons, stars of the future and welcoming the widest possible audience.

As we head towards our 150th birthday, we are ambitious to do more.

Become a part of the Hall’s legacy. Remember us in your Will.

How you can leave a legacy

After you have looked after your loved ones, remembering the Royal Albert Hall within your Will can have a positive impact on millions of people, from our audiences and daily visitors to the school children and elderly who benefit from our award-winning Education & Outreach work.

There are several options to leave a gift in your Will:

Donating a share of the residue of your estate
Your estate is the total value of all of your possessions, finances and property. Once you have specified gifts for loved ones, a share in the remainder of your estate – even just 1% – can be a much larger gift than you might realise:

I give a share of ___ [state the percentage or fraction] of the residue of my estate to The Royal Albert Hall Trust of Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AP (registered charity no. 285111) to be applied for the general purposes of the Royal Albert Hall.”

Donating a fixed amount
You can specify an exact amount to be left to charity using this suggested wording:

“I give and bequeath the sum of ___ to The Royal Albert Hall Trust of Kensington Gore, London SW7 2AP (registered charity no. 285111) to be applied for the general purposes of the Royal Albert Hall.”

A gift of any size in your Will can make a difference and donations to registered charities are not subject to Inheritance Tax. For example, if at least 10% of an estate is left to a named charity, then the chargeable element of the overall estate benefits from a reduction in the inheritance tax rate from 40% to 36%.

These suggested wordings are examples, but their precise use will depend upon the overall context of your individual Will. The Royal Albert Hall strongly encourages you to work with a solicitor when writing or amending your Will.
