The COVID-19 pandemic forced us to close our doors on 17 March. Since then, our situation has become progressively more perilous. The Royal Albert Hall is not too big to fail and we are asking anyone who can to donate today to protect the one of the nation’s greatest cultural assets.

We welcome the Government’s rescue package for the arts industry. We do not yet know what it will mean directly for the Royal Albert Hall, nor when we might be able to re-open our doors or when audiences will feel confident to return.

We need urgent clarity on when live performances with an audience might be safely possible, so that we can plan with more certainty and get back to being financially independent. Between March and July we have foregone £14m income during this enforced closure and have so far refunded £6m in tickets.

We opened our doors in 1871 and since then countless millions of people have cheered, gasped, cried and celebrated together in the nation’s village hall. Your Hall. Please continue to support us so that we can welcome you back and continue to create unforgettable experiences for years to come.
