From stomps and shuffles to boogie-woogie and blues, from bebop to Latin, two roaring big bands battled against each other in a BBC Proms celebration of swing music from the 1930s and 1940s.

The big bands, expertly led by Guy Barker and Winston Rollins, were joined by singer and broadcaster Clare Teal on a journey through the music of big band greats, including Duke Ellington, Count Basie, Benny Goodman, Tommy Dorsey, Jimmie Lunceford, Boyd Raeburn, Machito, Stan Kenton and Woody Herman.
