Nicholas McCarthy, who at one point was told he would never have a career, is not your average artist. We invited the superhuman pianist into the Hall to give us a sneak preview of what to expect from his upcoming Royal Albert Hall Elgar Room show.
Take a look at this:
Although Nicholas McCarthy was born without his right hand and he only began to play the piano at the late age of 14, McCarthy is the only left-hand alone pianist to graduate from the Royal College of Music in its 130 year history.
His stunning musicianship will be showcased in the Elgar Room in Nicholas McCarthy: Me And My Left Hand as part of the Love Classical festival on 7 March.
Saturday 4 – Wednesday 15 March 2017
Love Classical is a 12-day festival of classical music-themed events across seven different spaces around the Hall, from the iconic auditorium to deep underground in our Loading Bay.
