On 12 February 2017, the EE British Academy Film Awards – one of the most prestigious celebrations of film in the world, returned to the Royal Albert Hall.
For the first time since 1997, the BAFTA red carpet was laid down our South Steps, to welcome the film industry’s biggest talents and famous faces to the ceremony.

The evening saw 25 British Academy Film Awards statues awarded to the cream of the film-making crop, in front of some 3000 carefully selected guests including members of the British Royal family – the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge.
Damien Chazelle’s La La Land dominated the ceremony, taking home five trophies – including best film, best director and best actress for Emma Stone, while Casey Affleck won the best actor award.
