Grand Slam Champions, former World No.1s and national icons returned to the Hall once again for a dazzling display of high quality tennis and entertainment at Champions Tennis 2017.

Fans were in for a treat as they watched the legends battle it out. This year’s line-up included former British No.1 Greg Rusedski, two time US Open winner Pat Rafter, Mark Philippoussis and fan favourite Mansour Bahrami who made his 21st consecutive appearance at the Royal Albert Hall.

The final on Sunday saw two players who once held the No. 1 spot in the Emirates ATP Rankings face off in the Champions Tennis final. The two finalists, Marat Safin and Juan Carlos Ferrero, were both making their debut appearances at the Royal Albert Hall this year, and went head-to-head for a truly epic finale to the Champions Tour 2017!

It was Juan Carlos Ferrero who took home the trophy, after a nail-biting final against Marat Safin, but that was not all that made Ferrero happy after the match – getting to see all the happy fans around Royal Albert Hall made his efforts plenty worthwhile.

“The principal goal is to have fun and try to entertain the people as well. Winning is not our main goal, it’s just to have fun. It’s amazing here, the whole week. Everything has been perfect.”
Juan Carlos Ferrero
