Pictures and setlist: Chris Cornell's Higher Truth at the Royal Albert Hall
Influential rock vocalist and songwriter, Chris Cornell performed the only date in London of the European leg of his Higher Truth tour in the Royal Albert Hall on 3 May 2016.
The Higher Truth tour celebrates the fifth solo album from the singer. Although Cornell is often called the ‘chief architect of the grunge movement’, and is best known as lead singer of Seattle rock band Soundgarden, this acoustic-led album shows a different side to his artistry. Indeed, Rolling Stone said these new songs have the ‘balance of power and intimacy Cornell has always wanted his solo music to have.’
My deep thanks to London RAH for a night to remember forever! https://t.co/1a3XvCc157— Chris Cornell (@chriscornell) May 3, 2016
Over two and a half hours, Chris Cornell performed material from his new album, as well as stripped down classics by Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog and Audioslave, and music by his own personal heroes, to a sold-out audience.
Songs by The Beatles, Michael Jackson, Bob Dylan and Prince were all give the Cornell-cover treatment, as well as Led Zeppelin’s Thank You, performed in front of a delighted crowd which included the legendary Jimmy Page! Chris Cornell showed-off his musical mastery by covering One by Metallica using the chords to U2’s One.

Chris Cornell was amazing, undoubtedly one of the best rock vocalists ever. How he does that live is beyond. #chriscornell #livemusic— Benjamin Saunders (@bensaunders38) May 3, 2016
