Adelmo Fornaciari, better known to the world as Zucchero, a nickname given to him by one of his school teachers, has achieved worldwide acclaim since winning the Italian Castrocaro Festival in 1981.
His 1988 album Blue’s became the highest selling album in Italian history and included the original version of Senza una Donna (which later became his best known hit when released as a duet with Paul Young). Since then he has collaborated with many artists including Eric Clapton, Joe Cocker, Elton John, Sting and Pavarotti and has gained worldwide success.
November 2010 saw him return with new album Chocabeck, featuring collaborations with Brian Wilson and Bono. It has already been hailed as one of the best, if not the best album ever written by Zucchero. His last appearance at the Royal Albert Hall was in May 2008.
