Since forming in 2008, Bad Ass Brass have been thrilling audiences with their bold, funky music and high-adrenaline performances.
The band takes its influence from the sounds of traditional New Orleans brass bands but adds its own unique twist with original material and joyful covers of classic soul and funk tunes. Bad Ass Brass is comprised of some of the UK's finest brass players and jazz musicians, whose strong friendship results in an electric presence on stage.
Their self-titled debut album has quickly become a Jazz FM favourite with regular airplay on the station leading to a live nationwide broadcast and several appearances at Jazz FM live events. Their performance at the St Lucia Jazz Festival resulted in their music being played on BBC Radio London and radio and television appearances abroad.
Bad Ass Brass has performed to sell-out crowds at the St. Lucia Jazz Festival, the London Jazz Festival, the Elgar Room and Ronnie Scott’s jazz club and were recently short-listed for the 2012 London Jazz Award.
'Their music was classy, fun and upbeat, the jazz flow real and appealing and the audience made sure to show their appreciation' St Lucia Star
'It is difficult to convey in words the level of vivacity that this group of zesty musicians exudes' Brass Herald Magazine
