The London Contemporary Orchestra has established itself as one of the UK’s most innovative and respected ensembles, promoting the best new music and cross-arts collaborations to an increasingly wider audience.
Since forming in 2008 they have collaborated with a distinguished array of composers, artists and brands, including Radiohead, Frank Ocean, Secret Cinema, Vivienne Westwood, Jonny Greenwood, Boiler Room, Nike and Goldfrapp.
Highlights include performances at the Roundhouse, the Southbank Centre and the Barbican, including There Will Be Blood: Live, and the critically acclaimed site-responsive series Imagined Occasions.
The orchestra’s soundtrack output features The Master, Slow West and Macbeth, and the LCO strings and choir feature prominently on Radiohead’s 2016 album A Moon Shaped Pool.
This show is part of the Royal Albert Hall’s Love Classical Festival and will take place deep underground in the Hall’s atmospheric Loading Bay.

Mara Carlyle and Liam Byrne
Mara Carlyle is one of the UK’s most original and exciting singer-songwriters, drawing on an eclectic range of musical influences, including choral music, jazz, bluegrass, electronica and R&B.
Mara’s critically lauded debut, The Lovely, brought her to the attention of the major labels, and her dazzling follow-up, Floreat, introduced a much wider audience to her ‘unnervingly perfect vocals, lush yet off-centre arrangements, and quirkily original songs’ (The Independent).
It’s not just Mara’s unique style of songwriting and arranging that has won her such plaudits, but also her voice; both technically dazzling and dreamily comforting, her live performances frequently elicit goosebumps or tears from her audience.
Mara will be joined by viola da gamba player Liam Byrne.
‘Gorgeous, defiant, hypnotic’ ★★★★
