The Rosewood Marimba Quartet will showcase repertoire from the Romantic to the Contemporary.
We hear the sound of the marimba almost daily as background music during a television commercial, as music in an elevator, or even solo music, including Bach transcriptions, to contemporary commissioned works. The marimba is infused into a multitude of classical and contemporary ensembles, jazz ensembles, percussion shows, marching bands, drum and bugle corps, and in orchestral compositions, including marimba concertos. The visually beautiful 5-octave rosewood instrument with brass resonators can speak through many genres whether classical, contemporary, modern, folk or family. The versatility of the marimba is endless; it is truly an ageless instrument.
