A key component of the Hall's ambitions following the successful completion of an eight-year, £70 million, building development project is the development of a sustained and bespoke education programme. This programme will draw both on the diversity of each year’s calendar of events and the appeal of the building itself to offer a variety of experiences to those who might not normally visit the Hall, targeting children, young people and those in the local community.

Our education programme offers: · access to events via schools' matinees and family concerts · access to the building via a series of workshops based on National Curriculum subjects especially in music and science · opportunities for young people to create and take part in events - both on a small and large scale · activities which extend understanding of the programme of events at the Hall such as pre-concert talks, tours of the building and workshops in schools which explore themes through our programme. Currently, children form the core audience of the education programme. We are working with a group of teachers from our local and neighbouring education authorities to develop and extend our activities. We are also developing the programme in the longer term to include older pupils and those living further from the Hall.
Using three key principles of access, taking part and understanding, we aim to: · Fulfil one of the key purposes envisaged by the Hall's founders in providing public benefit through private enterprise in accordance with the charitable objectives. · Establish a profile and reputation for work in this area that plays to our strengths. · Seek to collaborate with performers and promoters of third party events (especially our own co-promotions) to deliver this work and meet our objectives. · Form partnerships with schools, other educational bodies, neighbouring institutions and performing arts organisations in order to build an exciting programme. · Measure our achievements in terms of the quality and lasting impact of experience from the individuals who participate in the programme.
