Soprano Indra Thomas to perform Aida in staged concert performances at the Royal Albert Hall

SOPRANO INDRA THOMAS TO PERFORM AIDA IN STAGED CONCERT PERFORMANCES AT THE ROYAL ALBERT HALL
New York – Acclaimed soprano Indra Thomas will perform the title role in Verdi’s Aida in a series of performances to be presented fully staged, and in-the-round by Raymond Gubbay, at the Royal Albert Hall, beginning on February 23rd (performance schedule listed below). The performances will be conducted by Andrew Greenwood, and directed by Stephen Medcalf.
Ms. Thomas, is considered one of the finest Aidas in the world today. She has performed this role most recently at the Hamburgische Staatsoper, and has sung it at the Bregenz Festival in Austria, the Palau De Les Arts Reina Sofia in Valencia under the direction of Lorin Maazel, the Avignon Music Festival, Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona, Lyric Opera of Chicago, Opera Africa in Johannesburg, San Diego Opera, the Chorégies d’Orange, Michigan Opera Theatre, the Palm Beach Opera, and the Atlanta Opera.
